MAGELANG (November 21, 2023) - The Ministry of Social Affairs, in collaboration with Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), continues to strengthen efforts in poverty alleviation and improving the welfare of the people. This commitment is reflected in various programs initiated by the Ministry as a tangible demonstration of the state's presence in supporting those in need.

During the Working Visit of Commission VIII members to Magelang Regency, the Ministry of Social Affairs, together with H. Luqman Hakim, a member of Commission VIII of the DPR RI, symbolically handed over assistance totaling IDR 53,042,692,819. The event, held at the Antasena Center Magelang (11/21), was witnessed firsthand by 130 beneficiary representatives from Magelang Regency, Central Java.

The assistance consists of the Family Hope Program (PKH) worth IDR 34,925,914,419; the Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) Program amounting to IDR 15,280,106,400; the Integrated Welfare Houses (RST) Assistance IDR 400,000,000; the Social Rehabilitation Assistance for Orphans (ATENSI YAPI) IDR 904,840,000; Elderly Food Assistance IDR 1,050,332,000; the Disability Food Assistance IDR 453,840,000; the Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) IDR 27,700,000.

Representing the Magelang Regency government, Muntaha, Head of the Social Rehabilitation and Social Empowerment Division at the Magelang Regency Social Office, thanked the Ministry of Social Affairs for its support through various programs.

"We express our gratitude to the Ministry of Social Affairs for providing this assistance, particularly to the people in Magelang Regency, who can truly benefit from it. Hopefully, this assistance will continue and improve even further later," Muntaha stated in his speech.

Arief Hidayat, Head of the Sub-Division of Administration of the Antasea Magelang Center reminded recipients to use the assistance responsibly and refrain from misusing or selling it.

"Assistance must be used wisely and developed for long-term benefitIt should not be misused, transferred, or traded," Arief emphasized.

In line with Muntaha, Member of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Luqman Hakim, also expressed his gratitude and encouraged the recipients to appreciate any form of support they receive.

"Hopefully, the assistance you receive brings both benefits and blessings. Regardless of the type of aid, it is important to be grateful. This support is a testament to the state's commitment through the Ministry of Social Affairs, aimed at empowering communities for a better future," said Luqman.

One of the recipients, Siti Indah Fatikah (28) from Kembaran Village, shared her joy after receiving entrepreneurship assistance for her angkringan (traditional street food stall) business. As a single mother of two, she sees this opportunity as a stepping stone toward a more stable family economy.

"I sincerely thank the Ministry of Social Affairs and Mr. Luqman for supporting those in need. With the rising cost of living, this assistance is incredibly valuable. If possible, I hope for additional support in the future to help with savings and my children's well-being," she said.

The event was also attended by representatives from the Magelang Regency Social Office, PT Pos Indonesia, BNI, and local PKH companions.
