BANGKALAN (November 24, 2023) – The Ministry of Social Affairs, in collaboration with Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), distributed IDR106 billion in aid to Bangkalan Regency, East Java. The assistance was handed over during a working visit at the Bangkalan District Office Hall, attended by Commission VIII member H. Hasani Bin Zuber.

The aid, totaling IDR106,257,454,391, covered various programs, including the Family Hope Program (PKH), the Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT), the Nusantara Economic Heroes (PENA), the Integrated Welfare Houses (RST), the Social Rehabilitation Assistance for the Orphans (YAPI), the Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) for Children Needing Special Protection (AMPK), disability assistance devices, and entrepreneurship support.

H. Hasani Bin Zuber emphasized Commission VIII’s role in overseeing, legislating, and budgeting for social welfare programs.

"We appreciate the Ministry of Social Affairs for its contributions to the community, especially in Bangkalan. Hopefully, this assistance will bring meaningful benefits," he stated.

The Acting Bangkalan Regent Arif M. Edie highlighted the importance of data synchronization between the Ministry of Social Affairs and local government. "This ensures social assistance to reach the right beneficiaries. For instance, many people with disabilities in Bangkalan have yet to receive the support they need," he added.

Representing the Ministry of Social Affairs, Syam Faturahmanda as the Head of the Administrative Sub-Division of Margolaras Center expressed gratitude to the Bangkalan District's support in distributing social assistance.

The assistance aims to enable the community to meet their basic needs and rights, fulfill their social roles and responsibilities, and overcome challenges in their lives.

One of the beneficiaries, 8-year-old Muhammad Wildan Azhat, expressed his happiness upon receiving ATENSI YAPI assistance. "I will save some of it and use the rest for school," he said.

The event was attended by Acting Bangkalan Regent Arif M. Edie, Bangkalan Sub-district Head Cici Vidiah, Head of the Bangkalan Social Office Wibagio Suharta, military and police representatives, social rehabilitation assistants, PKH companions, District Social Welfare Worker (TKSK), and other invitees.
