JAKARTA (30 November 2024) - The National Conference of the Indonesian National Council for Social Welfare (DNIKS) has appointed Effendy Choirie as the elected Chairman. Effendy is a former member of the House of Representatives for the 1999-2004 and 2004-2009 periods.
DNIKS is a strategic partner of the Ministry of Social Affairs. DNIKS plays a role in strengthening coordination between LKS2, facilitating LKS2's capacity improvement, and building a model of LKS2 empowerment to the community.
The event was attended by Director of Community Empowerment of the Ministry of Social Affairs Radik Karsadiguna, Special Staff of the Minister of Social Affairs for Social Welfare Services and Potential Sources of Social Welfare Abdul Malik H, and former Chairman of DNIKS Suyono.
In his speech, representing Minister of Social Affairs, Special Staff to Minister Abdul Malik said that this organisation is an instrument that helps Ministry of Social Affairs to alleviate poverty. He hopes DNIKS can continue to coordinate with related ministries.
“DNIKS also helps to improve the people's economy,” said Mr Malik at the event in Jakarta, on Sunday (30/11/2024).
On the same occasion, the elected Chairman of DNIKS, Effendy, invited all members to work sincerely for the nation, including the Ministry of Social Affairs. According to him, those who work at DNIKS are chosen people.
“People who are engaged in the social sector are noble servants of God because they work without salary,” he said.
He ensures that DNIKS will be a strategic partner of the Ministry of Social Affairs to realize the Prabowo-Gibran program. After he is elected, the management will be organized and a national working meeting will be held as well as the inauguration.
“It will be held in mid-December 2024, and will be inaugurated or confirmed directly by the Minister of Social Affairs,” he said.
The DNIKS National Conference was held online. The event was attended by participants consisting of 34 National Social Organisations (Orsosnas) and 30 people from provinces representing the Social Welfare Coordinating Institution.
