KUPANG (November 5, 2024) – Vice Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono emphasized that the state is always there to assist and help people affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. He conveyed this when giving information to the media crew on board the Inerie II Ferry, which was ready to deliver aid to the affected location through the Bolok Ferry Port in Kupang to the Larantuka Port in East Flores, on Tuesday (5/11/2024).

“We ensure that all necessary assistance will arrive on time and following the needs of the victims. The state is present and will continue to be there for our brothers and sisters in need,” said Vice Minister Agus.

The assistance prepared is in the form of basic needs such as food, bedding, clothing, and medical needs. In addition, Ministry of Social Affairs sent a special team to help and facilitate victims with the psychosocial recovery process.

The ferry Inerie II, which is loaded with various assistance, is planned to arrive at Larantuka Port in the next twelve hours. Ministry of Social Affairs team will immediately distribute and ensure that the aid distribution process runs smoothly and is received by the people in need.

“The government will continue to monitor conditions in the field and ensure that all victims receive good treatment and proper assistance according to what they need,” added Vice Minister Agus.

With this assistance, it is hoped that the community can immediately rise and continue their activities with full support from the government.
