JAKARTA (February 19, 2025) – Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) received a visit from four elected regents from East Java at the Ministry of Social Affairs Office, Salemba, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (2/19/2025). They are Lamongan Regent Yuhronur Efendi, Jember Regent Muhammad Fawait, Jombang Regent Warsubi, and Probolinggo Regent Muhammad Haris.
To the elected regents who will be inaugurated at the State Palace tomorrow, Gus Ipul invited them to immediately take a quick action to help update National Socioeconomic Single Data (DTSEN) as a reference basis for distributing social assistance and other community empowerment programs. This collaboration between the central and regional governments is believed to accelerate the poverty alleviation program, which is a priority of President Prabowo. "With the provinces and regencies together with Ministry of Social Affairs (MoSA), we work together," said Gus Ipul at his office, Jakarta, Wednesday (2/19/2025).
As a figure who is experienced as a regional head, Gus Ipul said that the minimum service standards that must be made by these new regional heads focus on five things. Namely, education, health, housing, peace and order, and social affairs. "The five are balanced, but starting from the social sector," he said.
Gus Ipul said that MoSA has distributed social assistance through the Family Hope Program (PKH), Health Insurance Contribution Assistance Recipients, and other programs to Jombang, Jember, Lamongan, and Probolinggo. The amount for Jember is IDR 1 trillion, Lamongan IDR 600 billion, Probolinggo IDR 850 billion, and Jombang IDR 650 billion. However, Gus Ipul reminded that all of this would be more optimal if accompanied by precise data so that assistance is right on target.
"So, it's not a matter of money. If you work alone, it means nothing. Later we will work together. This is important to synchronize," he said.
Gus Ipul said that President Prabowo is now emphasizing empowerment. So, the poor do not only receive social assistance. "We create a business process that can be imitated by regencies/cities," he said.
Gus Ipul said that in eradicating poverty through social assistance and empowerment, President Prabowo also asked all ministries, institutions, and local governments to work based on DTSEN. Local governments also have a role to update the DTSEN. "We have a participation channel, we create a mechanism," he said.
He said DTSEN can be updated through formal channels. Namely through RT/RW, villages, social offices, to the regent. Then, the data from the regent is sent to MoSA and processed at Statistics Indonesia (BPS). "Every three months we return it to the regent," he said.
Not only that, he also said that DTSEN update can be done by the public through Cek Bansos Application. The public only needs to attach the required data so that it can be followed up. "So that poverty reduction can be significant," he said.
In this regard, the regents welcomed Gus Ipul's invitation to cooperate. "In principle, we are ready," said Probolinggo Regent, Muhammad Haris.
