JAKARTA (December 1, 2024) – Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf  (Gus Ipul) along with Vice Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono attended the commemoration of IDPD 2024. This event lasted 3 days at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM), Central Jakarta, from December 1 to 3, 2024. In the event, Gus Ipul warmly welcomed the audience who attended.

"Welcome everyone, Let’s make these three days a joyful experience for all, ensuring equal opportunities for every Indonesian citizen, ultimately fostering equality in creativity," said Gus Ipul.

In commemoration of IDPD 2024, Gus Ipul emphasized the importance of equal access in three main areas: health, education, and employment. Visitors could access various service booths offering these opportunities throughout the event.

Both Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) and the public could benefit from free services such as health check-ups, therapy, IQ tests, psychological counseling, assistive device support, and other medical services. The event also featured Braille literacy services, inclusive education booths, and sports programs providing academic and non-academic support for persons with disabilities.

One of the main highlights was the career and job training services, particularly for persons with disabilities. The Ministry of Manpower was among the organizations providing career counseling and job placement guidance at the event.

"On this occasion, we are offering career guidance and vocational counseling to help individuals discover their talents and interests," said Siti Kustiati, Director of Domestic Workforce Placement Development at the Ministry of Manpower.

Visitors were also treated to an art exhibition showcasing beautiful paintings by artists with disabilities, along with a bazaar featuring handicrafts and culinary delights crafted by persons with disabilities, open until December 3.

The event was further enriched with performances by talented PwD(s), including dance, music, choir performances, stand-up comedy, and more—all free for attendees. Children could also participate in a coloring competition held on the first day of the event. The grand finale on December 3, 2024, will feature a special performance by renowned musician Tohpati and an orchestra, marking the peak of the celebration.

Beyond entertainment and services, IDPD 2024 also offered a series of interactive talk shows, featuring inspiring speakers from diverse backgrounds, aimed at raising awareness and sharing valuable insights on disability inclusion.
