JAKARTA (31 January 2025) - Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs together with Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) and Islamic Da'wah Development Board (BPDI) held an Isra Mi'raj 1446 H commemoration at the Aneka Bakti Building of Ministry of Social Affairs on Friday (31/1/2025).
Attending the event were Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul), Vice Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono, Advisor of DWP Ministry of Social Affairs Fatma Saifullah Yusuf and Intan Agus Jabo Priyono. The Isra Mi'raj commemoration is also used as a momentum to improve performance, achieve achievements, and alleviate extreme poverty in supporting President Prabowo's target.
"In the next two years, President's target is to reduce extreme poverty to 0%. We need to support this by doing effective, focused, directed, and integrated work, so that poverty alleviation is sharper and at the same time the President's target is met," said Gus Ipul.
In supporting Poverty alleviation, Ministry of Social Affairs is asked to develop a comprehensive, whole, integrated, coordinated, integrated plan so that it will be focused and effective. Gus Ipul also invited all levels of the Ministry of Social Affairs, including DWP to work more integrated and focused. Not only integrated within the Ministry of Social Affairs, but also with other Ministries / Institutions.
According to him, it can be done with integrated and valid data, as well as with clearer targets and sustainable interventions, the President's target in 2029 in reducing poverty will be realized.
Gus Ipul explained to all levels of the Ministry of Social Affairs that DTSEN, or National Socio-Economic Single Data, will be available soon. This data will include all data on the Indonesian population, which will be analyzed in terms of economic and other aspects. Thus, it will be easier to identify social targets in the future.
"I ask all levels of the Ministry of Social Affairs to start adjusting their programs based on integrated data. This is the first time in Indonesia's history that we have single data or one data. Later, this data will be used as a guide not only for Ministries/ Institutions but including local governments," he said.
Gus Ipul was also invited to improve performance, achieve achievements, and alleviate poverty significantly in 2025.
In this momentum, DWP advisor Fatma Saifullah Yusuf conveyed related to DWP management, which is expected to provide broad benefits to the community. "There are three fields in DWP management, namely education, economy, and socio-culture. Hopefully, this can provide broad benefits for the community and the Ministry of Social Affairs family," said Fatma.
Fatma also conveyed the aspirations of parents who have children with disabilities and experience obstacles in carrying out therapy. Long distances and cost constraints are obstacles for them in undergoing therapy.
In line with these aspirations, Gus Ipul explained that Ministry of Social Affairs would increase its commitment to provide inclusive services by providing therapy in 31 centres.
“I thank the DWP of Ministry of Social Affairs for continuing to strive to participate in the success of the Ministry of Social Affairs programme, this is a positive contribution,” he said.
This Isra Mi'raj commemoration, Ministry of Social Affairs also provided assistance to 25 beneficiaries. The beneficiaries consisted of 10 elderly recipients, 10 orphan children, and 5 people with disabilities.
The assistance was given directly by Gus Ipul together with Vice Minister Agus Jabo and the DWP Advisor. The assistance consists of additional nutrition, basic necessities, clothing, personal hygiene tools, room facilities, kitchen equipment, disability aids, school supplies, personal hygiene, and entrepreneurship.
Djohana (75), one of the beneficiaries, thanked the Ministry of Social Affairs for the assistance that had been provided. At her age, she is still a scavenger with an income of IDR 20,000 per day and takes care of her eight grandchildren. Djohana receives PKH assistance and nutritious meals for the elderly twice a day. “Mr Minister, I am grateful to have been helped,” she said.
